What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional (Special Ed) position at W.W. Robinson Elementary School?
*This position provides support to students with special needs and includes personal care duties.
All Paraprofessionals must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. Additionally, Paraprofessionals must be qualified through one of the following options:
- Complete two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- Obtain an associate's (or higher) degree (must provide supporting documents)
Newly hired paraprofessionals who do not meet one of these requirements will be required to certify through the Parapro assessment as soon as possible after being hired as noted below:
- Meet a proficiency target of 455 on the Parapro standardized assessment.
- In addition to the options identified above, Paraprofessionals may achieve local status by meeting a local proficiency score on the Parapro of 450.
When completing new hire paperwork paraprofessionals will receive direction on how to begin the process of scheduling your Parapro assessment.
