Architect
The client is the Mid-West's premier hospitality and development company and seeks an Architect .
An immediate job opening is available for a full-time architect to join our in-house Hospitality, Commercial & Multi-Family design department, located in the historic East Village in downtown Des Moines, IA.
You will provide design and drafting support on current projects, primarily working with AutoCAD, SkecthUp and Lumion. Our ideal candidate is detail orientated, has at least 5 years of hospitality design experience, and is excited to work within all phases of our design projects. You will have to be able to balance multiple parallel projects and switch between them on short notice. You may occasionally need travel to job sites and our existing properties, and work closely with our in-house construction team.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Architecture from NAAB Accredited Program
NCARB registration and licensure is preferred, or willing to pursue
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience
Experience in designing residential and hospitality projects
Construction experience is a plus
Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
Knowledge of trade resources, materials and vendors
Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, MS Office applications
Experience in Revit, Lumion, Photoshop is a plus
Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills
Ability to develop office CAD and BIM standards
Enjoys to interact effectively within a multidisciplinary design, development and construction -team, and on multiple parallel projects
Job type
In-office, Monday through Friday, occasional evening or weekend availability if project deadlines call for this.
