Code Compliance : Ensure designs adhere to local building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.
Technical Detailing : Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and material selections to guide construction.
Team Leadership : Coordinate and mentor junior designers and collaborate with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Construction Oversight : Provide guidance during the construction phase, including site visits and resolving design-related issues.
Sustainability : Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient design principles into projects.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of project progress, design revisions, and client communications.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum 8 years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on single-family residential projects.
Licensure : Active architectural license in Illinois or another state (NCARB certification is a plus).
Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge : Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and residential design trends.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy in design, documentation, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience designing luxury or custom single-family homes.
LEED or similar sustainability certification.
Knowledge of Illinois-specific building codes and permitting processes.
