Summary :
As the Catering Sales and Event Services Manager, you will drive banquet revenue and oversee all aspects of conference services, ensuring exceptional service and adherence to hotel standards. Reporting to the Director of Catering, you will coordinate and manage client functions with attention to detail and professionalism.
Responsibilities :
Stay informed about departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
Leverage expertise in the social event market, including weddings, rehearsal dinners, and celebrations.
Be available on-site for weekend weddings as needed.
Maintain high daily standards in operations and client interactions.
Actively seek new business through calls and sales activities; maintain regular client contact.
Respond promptly to guest needs, ensuring superior service at all times.
Possess detailed knowledge of hotel services, event spaces, meeting setups, and equipment.
Suggest, finalize, and confirm client menus while ensuring excellent banquet service.
Collaborate with other departments to guarantee outstanding guest experiences.
Monitor market trends and competition to maintain a competitive edge.
Assist with weekly and monthly reports and forecasts.
Develop and execute a sales action plan for assigned markets.
Foster positive relationships with guests, staff, and community members.
Address guest and staff concerns in a professional, solution-oriented manner.
Inspect event setups and ensure they meet client requirements and hotel standards.
Communicate effectively with clients throughout the planning process and during events.
Manage multiple accounts and priorities to ensure seamless execution of responsibilities.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum 3 years in a luxury or ultra-luxury property.
Education : College degree or equivalent experience.
Skills : Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
Technical Skills : Knowledge of food and wine, banquet operations, market trends, and sales generation.
Proficiency : Microsoft Office, Outlook, SalesForce, Social Tables, and Opera.
Language : Fluency in English required; additional languages preferred.
Physical Requirements : Ability to transport up to 20 pounds, perform physical tasks, and communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
