Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and management. The ideal candidate also has experience as a Controller at an Insurance Agency. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Duties
Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements by implementing appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Supervise the accounting team, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
Coordinate the annual budget process and monitor financial performance against budgeted targets.
Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business objectives.
Skills
Proficiency in accounting software and agency management systems. AMS360 Preferred. Epic is also OK. Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
In-depth knowledge of technical accounting practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis.
Experience in payroll processing and compliance with payroll regulations.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail for general ledger reconciliation tasks.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
