Key Duties
Oversee Accounting Operations - Manage the accounting department and ensure adherence to GAAP principles.
Financial Reporting & Analysis - Track financial status through actual, forecast, and budget reporting. Prepare monthly financial packages and key reports.
Cash Flow & Cost Control - Ensure sufficient funds are available, control capital usage, and develop cost accounting strategies for proactive financial management.
Quality & Cost Management - Capture and report poor-quality costs, monitor major cost drivers, and recommend cost reduction strategies.
Banking & Financial Agreements - Negotiate and maintain bank agreements, process wire transfers, and oversee payroll and benefit funding.
Tax Compliance & Reporting - Calculate and oversee sales, use, and income tax payments; prepare Form 1099s, borrowing base reports, and government filings.
Insurance & Risk Management - Purchase and maintain insurance for company assets and directors; manage annual renewals for general and workers' compensation policies.
Audit & Compliance - Work with external auditors, ensure timely submission of audit materials, and oversee financial compliance.
Supplier & Payment Management - Approve A / P checks, set up new suppliers in the system, and manage reconciliations.
Inventory & Fixed Assets - Audit physical inventories, maintain asset records, and track capital projects.
Regulatory & Environmental Reporting - Submit compliance reports, including coating material usage and government filings.
Support Strategic Planning - Assist in budgeting, update bank covenants, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness and must understand and follow all safety and quality rules and procedures.
- Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with craft workers, laborers, subcontractors, co-workers, supervisors, and others on the jobsite and in the office.
- Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
- Other job duties as assigned.
