Responsibilities:
- Design electrical and fire alarm systems and components for various commercial, residential, and industrial projects
- Create and modify electrical schematics and drawings using CAD software
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop system designs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes, such as NEC
- Conduct research and stay updated on new technologies and trends in electrical design
- Assist in the selection of electrical components and equipment for projects
- Perform calculations and analysis to determine system requirements
- Collaborate with other trades (such as mechanical) to integrate electrical systems into larger projects
- Review and interpret technical specifications and requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Designer or similar role
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design
- Knowledge of electrical system design principles and practices
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations, such as NEC
- Strong understanding of electrical components, equipment, and systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) software, such as Revit or NavisWorks, is a major plus
-PE and/or EIT are also a major plus
