Summary :
The position will be to design building electrical systems, including :
- electric load calculations
- design of switchgear
- Overcurrent Protection and grounding
- Electrical distribution systems, lighting control systems, voltage drop calculations, sub-metering systems,
- fire alarm, security / access control and IT backbones.
- Performing quality control on all designs issued
- Being production oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Being accurate and fast
- Experienced producing Electrical and Fire Alarm designs and specifications independently
- Being able to work well with architects and contractors
- Having working knowledge of NYC Building Code, NEC, NFPA
- Experienced responding to RFIs
- Reviewing shop drawings
- Having experience interfacing with Con Ed; new utility service designs
- Designing low voltage systems
- Designing Emergency Generators, ATS
- Performing building surveys
Site visits for surveying renovation projects at start up and to observe on-going construction are part of this position. Excellent spoken and written English skills with the desire to speak on the phone with clients and coordinate projects with co-workers.
BSME, EIT / PE desirable, must be familiar with NYC Electrical and Energy Codes, self-starter, team player, detail oriented a must. This is a growth position.
