Job Title : Electrical Foreman - Level I Superintendent

Department : Electrical

Reports To : Project Manager / Field Operations Manager

Location : Wilmington, NC

Salary : Based on Experience

Work Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours / week

Relevant Project Experience Focus : Hospital Medical Emphasis

Job Overview :

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and leading the electrical team on-site, ensuring that electrical work is completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule. This includes time spent actively working in the field with tools, ensuring high productivity, quality, and safety standards. The Foreman will also oversee crew performance, track progress, and implement measures to increase productivity.

Key Responsibilities & Time Allocation :

1. Supervision & Team Leadership (25%)

  • Supervise, motivate, and lead a team of electricians, ensuring work is completed to project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
  • Lead daily safety meetings, job briefings, and provide team updates.
  • Directly mentor and provide on-the-job training for electricians to improve skillsets, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Delegate tasks to crew members and ensure they have the necessary resources and materials.
  • Handle any conflicts or issues within the team promptly to maintain a productive work environment.

2. Field Work & Productivity Measures (35%)

  • Spend direct time on the job site working with tools and contributing to electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating effective use of tools and techniques to improve field productivity.
  • Establish and track individual and team productivity metrics such as tasks completed per day, time spent on each phase of the work, and quality benchmarks.
  • Actively monitor work quality and completion rates, adjusting work methods and personnel as needed to maximize output without sacrificing quality
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the workflow and address them in real time, encouraging improved productivity across the team.
  • Track and document team output to compare against planned work and project deadlines, and communicate progress to the Project Manager.
  • 3. Project Coordination & Scheduling (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and other trades to develop and adjust work schedules based on project needs and constraints.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to avoid delays.
  • Help monitor project timelines and update progress reports.
  • Ensure that all work performed adheres to the planned schedule, with daily or weekly updates on work completed and any setbacks or delays.
  • 4. Quality Control & Compliance (10%)

  • Conduct regular site inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with all relevant codes and specifications.
  • Enforce industry standards and company quality assurance measures to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Implement corrective actions if any work deviates from the quality standards.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are followed on-site, including proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • 5. Resource Management & Inventory (5%)

  • Maintain and ensure the availability of necessary tools, equipment, and materials for the electrical team.
  • Regularly check that tools are properly maintained, and perform or schedule any required repairs.
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
  • Track and manage inventory on-site, reporting any discrepancies or needs for additional resources.
  • 6. Documentation & Reporting (5%)

  • Keep detailed records of work completed, safety meetings, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, including reports on daily progress, productivity metrics, and team performance.
  • Document any changes to the scope of work and communicate these to the project team to ensure alignment.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as an Electrician, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and construction procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Experience in managing and improving field productivity and performance.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • OSHA Certification (30-hour or equivalent).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift heavy objects 75lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, trenches, and on scaffolding
