Job Description : Food Safety Manager
Salary Range : $100,000 - $130,000 Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Manage third-party vendors for auditing, sanitation, pest control, and digital HACCP to ensure compliance and consistency.
Monitor and evaluate the company's quarterly food safety and sanitation audit program, presenting findings and trends to leadership.
Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and food safety groups, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Review and follow up on regulatory inspection reports for food safety, sanitation, weights, measures, and labeling.
Provide expert guidance and corrective action plans to resolve issues identified in audits and inspections.
Lead and mentor a team of food safety specialists, offering field support to ensure adherence to standards.
Collaborate across departments, including Facilities, Merchandising, Procurement, Real Estate, and Distribution, on projects and initiatives.
Develop and deliver food safety training programs, including certification training for management positions.
Manage pest control programs and support quality assurance initiatives such as recalls, label reviews, and vendor audits.
Oversee and enhance Distribution Center audit programs and HACCP compliance.
Respond to and manage emergency situations such as pest infestations, water / power interruptions, and health hazards.
Conduct investigations related to foodborne illness or injury claims.
Assist in managing the recall program and participate in remodel and new store plan reviews.
Compile data for company scorecards and report key metrics.
Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in retail food service sanitation and food safety.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, FDA regulations, and state / local health codes.
Expertise in retail food safety practices and food safety manager training.
Proven ability to lead a team and manage vendor relationships.
Preferred :
Certification as a CP-FS (Certified Professional - Food Safety) or Registered Sanitarian.
PCQI Lead Instructor credentials.
Work Environment :
Up to 75% travel required.
Hybrid work environment available for candidates residing within the organization's operating area, per company policy.
