Role Overview
We are seeking a Hardware Design Automation Engineer to develop automation scripts, macros, and custom APIs that integrate AI-driven design insights into mechanical and simulation workflows. This role requires expertise in CAD / CAE software automation, API integration, and mechanical engineering principles to support AI-driven product development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop macros and automation scripts for CAD / CAE software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Ansys, Onshape, OpenSCAD, FreeCAD, KiCAD using Python, VBA, C, or C .
Work with software APIs to build custom automation tools for geometry modifications, simulations, and batch processes.
Ensure AI-driven geometry changes align with real-world manufacturing constraints and engineering principles.
Diagnose automation issues related to scripts, solver integrations, and CAD / CAE environments.
Enhance automation workflows for efficiency, including high-performance computing (HPC) considerations for large-scale simulations.
Work closely with AI / ML engineers, mechanical designers, and DevOps teams while maintaining version control and documentation.
Key Requirements
Strong proficiency in Python, VBA, C, C for automation scripting.
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Ansys, Abaqus, Siemens NX, or Onshape .
Ability to build and integrate custom macros, scripts, and plugins for automated geometry modification and simulations.
Understanding of FEA, thermal analysis, and manufacturability constraints .
Ability to diagnose and fix issues in automation scripts and APIs.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with HPC or distributed computing for large-scale FEA / CFD simulations.
Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, additive manufacturing).
Familiarity with digital twin development and AI-driven design tools .
