Job Description:
We are seeking a driven and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful construction of projects while maintaining safety, quality, budget constraints, and excellent customer relations. The Project Engineer will work closely with project management and field management throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors; issue purchase orders and contracts.
Coordinate, review, and submit working drawings, Material Questionnaires (DC-2891), and Requests for Approval to Sublet (DC-18).
Ensure timely submission of certified payrolls, monthly project workforce reports, EEO paperwork, and other required documents by subcontractors.
Actively participate in preparing look-ahead schedules and monthly schedule updates.
Review and approve foreperson's time cards and diaries.
Prepare force account billing.
Conduct daily site visits and meet with crews and subcontractors.
Review material needs and schedule deliveries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
3 years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction.
Experience with earthwork, utilities, and paving is a plus.
Experience with bridges and structures is also a plus.
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management abilities.
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob and Vista preferred.
Knowledge of Primavera P6 is a plus.
Familiarity with estimating, engineering, and cost tracking is a plus.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
