We are headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. We are national mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems and service contractor providing comprehensive design and build solutions for its customers throughout the United States. We are coast to coast holding engineering and construction registrations, licenses, and certifications within 30 states.
Position Summary
Under administrative supervision from a designated trade manager, to plan, coordinate and supervise new construction and remodeling of existing buildings.
The Plumbing Journeyman has extensive experience performing repairs on different piping systems, snaking drains, fixing leaks, and installing pipes and water heaters.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Diagnose plumbing problems and perform repairs
Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures
Install and / or repair appliances like dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks, etc.
Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper function
Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Traits / Competencies
Knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts.
Knowledge of building materials, tools, and machines.
Knowledge of building material costs
Able to read technical designs and blueprints
Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment
Expert knowledge in piping and ventilation systems
Requirements
High school graduation or equivalent.
Completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship expected.
Requires experience in Industrial plumbing for construction projects, Including pipefitting, Blueprint reading and installation of various piping systems(PVC, Copper, steel) . Must work effectively as a part of Crew, Follow safety protocol and assist in troubleshooting issues in Job sites
4 years of professional plumbing experience
Any combination totaling four years (48 months) work experience in building construction, remodeling, construction project coordination experience.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday.
Lift repetitively 50 pounds.
Climb ladders.
Work from scaffolding and lifts.
Other manual labor as required.
