Job Title : Process Engineer

SUMMARY : The Injection Molding Process Engineer will develop and qualify the processes at the injection molding presses for new mold validations and will troubleshoot existing mold processing issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Establishes, controls, and improves existing injection molding processes.
- Manages new mold sampling including all documentation.
- Develops, qualifies, and validates injection molding processes for new molds.
- Analyzes process problems and determines the root cause, conferring with production, tool room and maintenance personnel and management as required
- Analyzes production processes to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency. Determine methods to reduce cost and / or waste, increase speed or output.
- Provides feedback to engineering and / or sales and follows up as needed.
- Adheres to quality system requirements with a focus on continuous improvement in relationship to our process set-ups.
- Performs other tasks / projects assigned by management.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position has no supervisory responsibilities; however, this position may be required to run a shift in the absence of the Process Development Manager.

- EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five to ten years related work experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Paulson Pro-Molder Certificate or equivalent is desirable.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
