As a Senior Audit Associate , you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to a wide range of clients. This position involves managing all aspects of audit engagements, from initial planning and risk assessment to the final deliverables. You will work closely with team members and serve as the primary client contact, guiding them through complex financial reporting and compliance matters. Your expertise will help maintain the firm's standard of excellence while also supporting your growth in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Engagement Planning & Scheduling
Coordinate and schedule fieldwork with clients, ensuring engagement timelines are met.
Organize team members for specific audit engagements.
Prepare and review engagement letters and the Prepared by Client (PBC) lists.
Develop audit plans, strategies, and risk assessments, outlining steps to mitigate identified risks.
Monitor engagement progress, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time.
Audit Execution
Conduct internal control walkthroughs to assess systems and processes.
Perform fieldwork and assign specific tasks to team members.
Review work papers completed by team members, providing feedback and guidance.
Financial Statement Preparation & Review
Prepare financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
Review financial statements prepared by staff to ensure compliance with standards and firm policies.
Concluding Procedures
Complete concluding procedures, such as management inquiries and corroborations.
Send audit binders for partner and cold review processes.
Address feedback from partners and cold reviewers.
Prepare communications for governance and management, including proposed journal entries.
Professional Development
Stay current on developments in accounting and auditing practices, and industry trends.
Assist in the development and implementation of new firm policies in response to changes in accounting and auditing standards.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field. A master's degree in public accounting is a plus.
CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA is highly preferred.
3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field, with a focus on audit services.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Familiarity with accounting software is required, and experience with Engagement Manager (formerly AdvancedFlow ) is preferred.
Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving professional environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and impactful feedback to clients and team members.
