We are seeking a qualified Substation Civil Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of the civil site development process and small slab and pier foundation design.
Duties & Responsibilities
Detail civil site and foundation engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction
Produce drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and Bluebeam
Create / modify design documents and drawings for a project, including specifications, technical reports to support design as required by permitting agencies, and generating bills of material
Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
Take on a project engineer and / or project manager role as required
Requirements
4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering
Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
Ability to travel
Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Self-starter
Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
Work independently or in a team environment
Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
