Job Summary
The Survey CAD Technician will be responsible for providing office and field-based survey and GPS support, including construction staking and layout, collection and processing of field data, and preparation of 3D machine control models.
Responsibilities :
Analyze / verify existing site conditions and review survey documents provided by others to ensure the accuracy of information used for design and construction.
Utilize provided survey information to localize construction sites and set appropriate vertical and horizontal control points.
Perform topographic surveys of construction sites in various stages utilizing a UAV / Drone and / or conventional methods.
Analyze and process data collected conventionally and with UAV / Drone to produce 3D point clouds.
Utilize Agtek software to prepare subgrade surface models and perform accurate earthwork estimates.
Prepare detailed and accurate 3D machine control models to aid in efficient earthwork and grading operations.
Collaborate with office and field personnel to facilitate machine control integration.
Desired Qualifications :
Associate's degree or vocational school education in surveying, computer-aided drafting and design, or similar preferred.
Computer proficient with previous experience on software programs including Agtek, AutoCAD, HCSS, and Propeller desirable.
Knowledge and previous experience working with standard surveying instruments, Trimble, and Topcon construction equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once.
Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.
General knowledge of site and utility construction surveying principles.
