Summary of Position Responsibilities :
Responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day technical operations of the shift. This includes directing and assisting with mold changes and setup, eliminating scrap and downtime, and training technical staff. Coordinates equipment and tooling damage and improvement plans with Maintenance and Tool Room Coordinators. Initiates work orders through the COGS System. Drives continuous improvement activities on shift and throughout the organization. Assists in ensuring adherence to company policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
Reduce scrap.
Improve cycle time and machine efficiencies.
Implement corrective actions and 8 D's related to customer complaints.
Perform parameter checks.
Update cycle sheets.
Oversee and coordinate mold changes and setup.
Ensure mold cleaning before mold changes.
Report and repair equipment and tooling damage utilizing the COGS System.
Conduct performance evaluations, manage issues, and develop technical staff, ensuring individual performance levels.
Effectively utilize technical labor.
Coordinate scheduled PTO and manage unscheduled absences within the technical group.
Provide initial and continuous training for shift technical staff.
Actively participate in the launch of new products and processes, coordinating with quality leaders and champions.
Prepare shift handoffs and ensure thorough communication.
Maintain housekeeping and organization of the facility.
Provide suggestions for continuous improvement, process efficiency, and labor usage.
Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting on the floor as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :
2-4 years of plastic process technical experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completed training in material handling and operator functions.
Good working knowledge of automated equipment and material handling responsibilities.
1-2 years of quality control experience or completed quality leader training.
Proven leadership ability with flexibility, motivation, and ownership.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes.
High level of interpersonal skills with strong emphasis on communication across all levels.
