Job description
Well established Tool and Die company seeks a skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker and / or Tool and Die Repair Position with a manual machining background in a job shop environment. The company is located in Northwest Houston, Texas and has been providing complex tooling solutions for nearly 60 years.
TOOL AND DIE MAKER
Experienced and skilled in building, troubleshooting, repairing and preventive maintenance of Tooling and Die.
Experienced and skilled in understanding layouts, drawing, sketches and performing machining of components using drill press, milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, saw and other machines. Use of measuring equipment.
Examine defective parts to determine cause of defect and repair.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Familiar with metal stamping dies, fixtures, etc.
Experience with tool steels and their applications.
Experience with commonly stamped metals such as cold-rolled steels, hot-rolled steels and stainless steels.
Participate actively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings to fabricate tooling components.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on dies and tooling to maintain optimal performance.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
Adhere to safety standards and best practices throughout all machining operations.
