- Maintain knowledge of applicable international trade laws and regulations related to U.S. Customs and Border.
- Protection (CBP), U.S. Department of Commerce (BIS), and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Support in resolving international trade issues resulting from import and export activities.
- Maintain STA and Federal Maritime Commission.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to support import and export compliance requirements.
- Track and assess changing legal requirements and policy trends and their impact on the organization's operations, policies, practices and procedures.
- Support and monitor businesses to ensure both import and export transactions are accurately reported through Automated Commercial Environment.
- Develop a transparent organization-wide system for responding to compliance matters.
- Provide guidance and ensure that the organization understands and meets all compliance requirements.
- Conduct appropriate meetings and provide training regarding corporate compliance.
- Develop, direct and revise policy and procedures to promote and maintain compliance standards within company.
- Periodically, review all new and existing contracts as well as other corporate documents to evaluate legal liability matters and ensure compliance.
- Identifying non-compliant activity and managing resolution including the development of plans of correction with involved departments.
- Ensuring proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
- Conducting internal audits as needed and preparing reports.
