Our client is a Wisconsin family law firm focusing on divorce, child custody, paternity, post-divorce proceedings and more - and they are on track for aggressive growth.
Duties And Responsibilities
Effectively communicate with clients, opposing parties, court, and others
Help solve divorce and family issues for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
Prepare for hearings and represent clients in court proceedings as needed
Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, divorce judgements, stipulations and other orders
Draft and/or edit motions, affidavits, pleadings, legal arguments, testimony, and trial briefs
Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
Continuously update clients on the developments of their case
Thorough & timely counseling clients on settlement versus contesting issues
Promote an excellent client experience
Other tasks as assigned by Senior Attorney
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a family law firm in SE Wisconsin
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
Technical training or knowledge: Basic business software (MS Office Suite), Email client software, case management software, Legal research software (Westlaw, Lexis), and other computer and telephone technology as may be implemented and required for the position
Required Licensure: Admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and satisfactory standing with the State Bar
