Family Attorney

Position: Family Law Attorney

Location: Rockville, MD

Compensation: $135,000 - $170,000 DOE

Our client is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to guide clients through sensitive legal matters, including child custody, child abuse, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support, and real estate issues. The ideal candidate will excel in negotiation and oral advocacy, even in high-stress, emotionally charged situations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with paralegals and senior partners to efficiently navigate the civil litigation process.
• Assess client needs, analyze situations, and develop effective legal strategies.
• Represent clients in court proceedings as needed.
• Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce cases.
• Maintain and organize up-to-date client files.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
  
  

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and licensure to practice law in Maryland (preference for candidates also licensed in DC).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in family law and real estate-related matters.
• Prior experience representing clients in hearings, trials, and mediation.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly under emotional and high-pressure situations.
• Persuasive writing skills and excellent verbal communication.
• Ability to manage support staff and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in legal research.
• Background in criminal justice is a plus.
