Reports to: Fertilization Lead

Overview

As a Lawn Fertilizer Technician, you'll be responsible for a variety of essential tasks that help keep our clients' lawns lush, healthy, and beautiful. From fertilization and weed control to aeration and lawn repairs, you'll play a key role in maintaining the high standards we're known for. You'll be working closely with the Fertilization Team Leader and other team members to ensure that our services meet and exceed client expectations.

Description

Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control: Apply fertilizers and weed control products to promote healthy growth and prevent unwanted weeds.

Aerations and Overseeds: Use aeration equipment to improve soil health and water penetration, ensuring lawns stay lush and green.

Soil Health: Monitor soil conditions and recommend treatments for improvement

Customer Interaction: While out on the job, you'll be interacting with clients, answering any questions they may have about their lawn care, and ensuring they're happy with the work being done.

Equipment Care: Maintain and operate lawn care equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring it's always in good working condition.

Adhere to Safety protocols: Ensure all lawn treatments and equipment use comply with safety regulations and company policies. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying treatments or handling chemicals. Follow safe driving practices when transporting equipment to and from job sites.

Responsibilities

Landscape Enhancements: Assist with the maintenance of flower beds, including mulching, trimming, and weeding.

Hydroseeding/lawn installations: Apply hydroseeding to promote fast and healthy lawn growth in areas where traditional seeding methods might not be as effective.

Equipment Maintenance and Preparations: Conduct routine maintenance on mowers, spreaders, and other lawn care tools, ensuring they are ready for the next round of work. Clean and organize vehicles and storage areas.

Inventory Management: Assist in inventory checks for fertilizers, pesticides, and other materials to ensure adequate stock.

Training & Development: Attend training sessions on new lawn care techniques, products, or equipment. Stay up to date with the latest trends in lawn care and apply that knowledge to improve service delivery.

Marketing Assistance: Off season marketing planning with sales and implementor, social media, door hangers, target marketing assistance.

Backup Support: If a technician is unavailable due to illness, training, or other reasons, another technician or team member will be assigned to cover their rounds, ensuring minimal disruptions to client services.

Qualifications

State Pesticide Applicator License is preferred, but not required.

State Fertilizer Applicators Certification Is Preferred, But Not Required.

Previous experience in lawn care or landscaping is preferred, but not required.

Strong attention to detail and a passion for working outdoors.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Basic knowledge of lawn care products and techniques (we'll train the right candidate).

Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
