Duties
- Supervise daily shop operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Coordinate workflow and manage scheduling to optimize production efficiency.
- Train and mentor shop personnel on equipment operation, materials handling, and safety practices.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular maintenance checks to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with toolmakers to implement tooling changes and improve production processes.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure product specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, inventory levels, and employee performance.
- Work alongside toolroom team to run CNC Milltronics machines, lathes, and Okamoto wet and Mitsui hand surface grinders.
- Collaboration with existing and prospective customers
- 15 years experience within a toolroom and/or job shop
- 5 years as "lead toolmaker" experience
- Experience with quoting projects
- Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in CNC programming and operation.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques within a factory environment.
- Knowledge of tooling requirements for various manufacturing processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of production management.
