We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mine Planning Engineer with a background in underground hardrock narrow vein mining to join our team in the beautiful Silver Valley of Northern Idaho. This is a unique opportunity to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment that combines fieldwork underground with office-based planning responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain short-term and medium-term underground mine plans using Deswik Stope Optimizer and Interactive Scheduler or similar software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other engineers, geologists, and underground mining crews to ensure efficient and safe mining operations.
- Contribute to stope design, drill and blast planning, and ventilation layouts.
- Monitor and adjust mine plans based on operational conditions and geological input.
- Support continuous improvement in mine planning and production efficiency.
- Conduct regular underground inspections and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years (mid-level) or 5 years (senior-level) experience in underground hardrock narrow vein mining.
- Proficiency with Deswik Stope Optimizer and Interactive Scheduler or similar mine planning tools.
- Strong understanding of underground mine operations and planning principles.
- Ability to work underground and in an office environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
