Key Responsibilities
- Prepare studies and designs of roadways, intersections, shared-use paths, parking lots, and other auxiliary facilities.
- Work on roadway and intersection reconstruction projects, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), municipalities, and other state agencies.
- Design horizontal and vertical geometry, grading, drainage, and develop construction plan sets.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare estimates and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure projects progress efficiently and meet client expectations.
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
- 4-10 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
- EIT certification or ability to take the FE exam within six months of hire. PE certification is a plus!
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Experience with other Civil Engineering software applications (e.g., SignCAD, ParkCAD, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam) is desired but not required.
- Experience with MassDOT Design Standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
