We are a growing, family-owned plumbing and mechanical contractor based in Clinton Township, MI, looking for a mechanically inclined, boots-on-the-ground leader to step in as our new Project Manager. This individual will take over much of the day-to-day operational workload currently handled by ownership-freeing us up to pursue new work and scale the business.
You will be responsible for coordinating field staff, managing jobsite logistics, scheduling service and construction work, and acting as a liaison between the team, customers, and vendors. We're looking for someone who can read blueprints, communicate clearly, solve problems independently, and has enough field experience to manage and support crews without being micromanaged.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule service technicians and crews using our scheduling software
- Serve as the point of contact for jobsite questions, change orders, and material issues
- Communicate with customers when needed to confirm access, schedule changes, or job concerns
- Provide real-time support to field staff by troubleshooting issues or coordinating deliveries
- Manage and respond to incoming job-related calls (you'll take over one of our owner's work phones)
- Monitor job progress, address problems, and help manage service work that often spans multiple visits
- Assist with documentation related to change orders and project updates
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors for specialty trades (carpentry, HVAC, etc.)
- Mechanically inclined with solid plumbing knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, ideally in a supervisory or field leadership role (e.g., superintendent or foreman)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings
- Comfortable working independently, solving problems, and keeping jobs on track
- Professional, personable, and clear communicator - comfortable dealing with both customers and field staff
- Experience with change orders, scheduling tools, and construction workflows
- Experience in construction or plumbing-related roles required; leadership or field coordination experience strongly preferred (e.g., superintendent or foreman)
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems and mechanical work (plumbing license not required)
- Experience managing field crews, resolving jobsite issues, and coordinating day-to-day work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills using basic project tracking software or tools
- Confident communicator who can represent the company with professionalism
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable solving technical challenges in the field
- Familiarity with change orders, subcontractor coordination, and job costing is a plus
- Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000/year based on experience
