Sr. Controls Engineer

Job Description

Engineering of industrial manufacturing equipment including electrical system design, PLC/HMI programming, project management, electrical department management and manufacturing support. Two direct reports and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Daily Duties

• Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
• Assemble electrical system bill of materials
• Develop and implement control programs for industrial PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
• Meet established deadlines through successful project management and scheduling
• Support customers with machine troubleshooting
• Manage electrical department of 7 electricians, fabricators, and panel builders
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering team on design of machine functions and operations
• Occasional travel (approx. 3 times per year)
• Support research and development projects
• Limited travel for installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer facilities
  
  

Requirements

• Programming experience with Allen Bradley and Schneider Electric control systems and software
• 3 years experience designing electrical power and control systems
• Experience with AutoCad preferred
  
  

Compensation

• Annual salary dependent on experience

Work Week

42.5 hours per week. 7:30am to 4:30pm, ½ hr for lunch.
