Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients with wounds, injuries, or post-surgical incisions. This role plays a crucial part in promoting healing and preventing infections.

Duties

• Assessing and treating various types of wounds such as pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers
• Developing and implementing individualised wound care plans
• Monitoring and documenting wound healing progress
• Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Performing wound care procedures such as dressing changes, debridement, and infection control measures
  
  

Skills

• Proficiency in medical documentation and record-keeping
• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
• Experience in ventilator management for patients with complex wounds
• Ability to provide trauma medicine interventions when necessary
• Knowledge of infection control protocols to prevent wound-related complications
• Familiarity with discharge planning procedures for transitioning patients to home or nursing home care
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
