Job Title: Behavioral Health Care Coordinator
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (Remote only for NM candidates)
Job Type: 7-month contract
Position Description:
This role involves conducting accurate and timely clinical reviews of behavioral health cases to determine medical necessity. Responsibilities include assisting members over the phone, reviewing medical records, assessing cases involving contract interpretation of behavioral health diagnoses, and applying knowledge of medical necessity criteria for all levels of behavioral health care, ranging from outpatient visits to acute inpatient care.
Job Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, current license or Master's-level Behavioral Health Professional with an active, current independent practice license.
Clinical license in good standing to practice in the state of operations.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting or managing a behavioral health practice.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in using PC and database systems.
Experience in utilization review
