Information Technology Sourcing Manager

Role: Senior Sourcing Advisor

Duration: 06 Months contract Possible extension

Location: Chicago IL (Hybrid)

Job Profile Summary:

• This position will support IT category management around the identification, development, and execution of the sourcing and procurement process. Key areas of support for PSS will include needs analysis, sourcing options, decision support, negotiation support and contract oversight. Additional focus includes cost reduction strategies and overall support and research of category strategies, supplier risk mitigation, and management. This position will be responsible for leveraging market research and performing total cost analyses to support decision making.

Description:

·        This position is expected to lead efforts for a high-performing procurement team in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment, responsible for providing thought leadership and oversight on complex categories of spend. This position will perform duties associated with category management including but not limited to category definition, market intelligence, and development of supplier roadmaps and negotiation strategies. Fosters partnerships with suppliers and critical business stakeholders. This position will also be responsible for escalations pertaining to the facilitation of requirements, and contract drafting and negotiations.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing and indirect procurement
• Expert knowledge of strategic sourcing principles
• Effective team leadership background: strategic thinker who is energized by change and impact.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with extensive experience developing presentations for executive leadership and other internal groups
• Experience with conducting wide-ranging research.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen to support and enhance procurement strategy and goals.
• Ability to function in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Consistent thought leadership
• Extensive experience in project management and skills to participate and be effective in contract negotiations with industry suppliers.
• Strong multitasking capabilities.
• Self-sufficient on all projects, with minimal to no leadership direction

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Computer Science, MBA or other advanced degree
• CPSM certification
• 3 years of experience in IT software sourcing
• 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience
• Knowledge of client organization.
• Knowledge of health insurance industry
