The Vendor Management Consultant as a part of the Vendor Management Organization [VMO] within the Group Purchasing Organization [GPO] will proactively engage and drive strategy in line with corporate objectives and support the management of a portfolio of client vendors to extract maximum value for the organization from existing contracts and relationships. Key functions include contract management along with purchase order management, in addition to relationship management. The role requires regular interaction with management from strategic and preferred suppliers, as well as the client business owners.
The Vendor Management Consultant will support the management of our key vendors in alignment with agreed financial outcomes, as well as business vision and strategy, and will be assigned to support the management of specific vendors and/or contracts at a global level, partnering with the client business owners. The Vendor Management Consultant will ensure that the vendors are delivering against their contractual obligations and that client is receiving expected value.
Preferred:
4-year college degree.
At least 5 years of experience.
3 years of IT labor contract negotiating and managing vendors.
Minimum of 3 years of sourcing and/or vendor management experience.
Work experience in category management, supply chain, vendor management and/or procurement.
Comprehensive knowledge of procurement policies and regulations.
Strong advocate, familiarity and technical competence with P2P management software, for example GEP or similar.
Competency to manage priorities and procurement timelines through analytical capabilities.
General knowledge of accounting and finance.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Deliverable:
Execute on vendor specific management strategies.
Manage the IT resource outsourcing contracting process between outsourced vendors, legal, key stakeholders, and finance.
Utilize the GEP procurement system to manage the contracting and purchase order processes.
Collaborate with key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and vendor performance; support the implementation of appropriat Vendor Management strategies.
Support the relationship survey process and vendor performance reviews for strategic/complex relationships.
Ensure compliance with enterprise policies and procedures.
Deliver financial optimization by driving compliance to contractual agreements.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Extra Notes:
Contract Management for new managed services IT vendors (Cloud, Data Warehouse and Analytics, Service Desk and Infrastructure). (changes to contracts, amendments, add funding, scope change) contracts are Fixed Fee and Time and Materials.
Experience managing survey process - evaluating vendors, creating scorecards, corrective action.
Cross Functional experience engaging with Legal, Finance and the Business
Nice to have experience with the RFQ process
Agility and white glove service are required.
