Ralph Winter is a successful global entrepreneur and real estate investor who was an early investor in European student housing, multifamily, micro-apartments and shared living. Ralph amassed a portfolio of 40,000 student housing units and 100,000 multifamily units, generating over €30 billion in investment transaction volume.
An active family investment office based in Miami Beach is searching for a full-time Controller / VP of Finance to join their family office. The person will work closely with the senior management and the investment team and be the main lead on accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, HR, administrative support, and other personal asset related tasks.
Responsibilities include:
· Solely responsible for all accounting / finance functions including the day-to-day upkeep of the books & records and budgets of the family office and related investments.
· Main HR contact and process all payroll and sensitive employee information, including benefits and equity options.
· Assist investment team on operational and financial aspects of properties/assets including budget control and capital requests.
· Overseeing vendors, contractors, surveilling the construction on their new home, and managing multiple projects.
· Lead all tax planning and compliance requirements/special projects.
· Lead the preparation and management of LP reporting activities.
· Maintain all appropriate insurance coverage for the family office and related assets.
· Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
· Monitor loans and associated covenants, ensuring compliance and timely reporting to meet all deadlines.
· Develop business plans and conduct regular updates and analyses to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
· Review and processing invoices, cash requests, and expenses.
· Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressure.
· Create and maintain periodic reporting on multiple projects and assets.
· Build and maintain close relationships with all outside parties including partners, bankers, accountants, etc.
· Establish and maintains effective working relationships with the beneficial owner, executives and the office staff
· Holds additional office responsibilities to ensure the office is operating smoothly. Provides ad-hoc support to others when requested to assist with work overflow as capacity allows.
· Provide transactional support when needed.
· Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications:
· 5-7 years of experience in tax, accounting, or finance experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and Certified Public Accountant
· Real Estate experience a plus
· Ability to recognize and respond to potential problems
· Take initiative to solve problems independently and creatively
· Strong research and analytical skills, organized, strong time management skills, self-driven, strong work ethic, and able to accomplish tasks with little or no supervision
· Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and proactively communicate with individuals at all levels

· Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
