Position Description
Washington Patriot Construction (WA Patriot) is seeking a Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join our team in our Home Office in Gig Harbor. General Information
Full Time Position: 40 hours/week
Reports to: CEO, COO
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Job Location: Varies based on project location
Qualifications
- Requirements:
- 10 years commercial construction experience, with 2 years minimum experience as Quality Control Manager
- 4yr degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certificate (or willing to sign up for and complete the course)
- Must be able to get badging for onsite work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Keyport, Naval Base Bangor, or any Puget Sound Federal Installation as onsite QC personnel
- Preferences:
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1
- Experience with Construction Management software, tools, scheduling programs
- Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, Project)
- Proficient using BlueBeam
- Take-off and estimating experience
- Past construction experience (employment or internship)
- WA Patriot contracts as a General Contractor and a Design-Builder. Knowledge and understanding of the Design-Build contracting method is beneficial.
Quality Control Role/Responsibilities
- Administer the Project Contract to ensure compliance.
- Administer the Quality Control Program to ensure compliance.
- Identify, negotiate and processes contract Change Orders as directed by the Project Manager.
- Coordinate and process submittals including product data, shop drawings and other documentation required by the Contract Specifications.
- Coordinate field activities including Subcontracts as delegated by the Project Superintendent.
- Ensure effectiveness of communications within the department and between departments, making sure your message is being received and that you understand direction given to you.
- Perform Subcontract Administration, write subcontract scope descriptions, procurement of materials, process change orders, processing submittals, etc.
- Produce construction schedules based on experience.
- Participate in estimating project costs in support of corporate project pursuit activities.
Role/Responsibilities on FEDERAL Projects
- Implement the "Three Phases of Control" for each definable feature of work; schedule and attend all Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings.
- Inspect all work and rework to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Maintain rework log on site noting dates deficiency identified and date corrected.
- Prepare daily Quality Control reports; ensure Contractor Production reports are prepared daily.
- Coordinate and process submittals including product data, shop drawings and other documentation required by the Contract Specification.
- Maintain a testing plan and log. Ensure that all testing is performed in accordance with the contract. Review all test reports and notify the Contracting Officer of all deficiencies, along with a proposal for corrective action.
- Assure that all applicable tests and observations required by the contract are performed.
- Coordinate all factory and on-site testing with Testing Laboratory personnel, Quality Control Specialists, and any other inspection and testing personnel required by this Contract.
- Certify and sign statement on each invoice that all work to be paid under the invoice has been completed in accordance with contract requirements.
- Perform Punch-out and participate in Pre-final and Final acceptance Inspections.
- Perform Contract Closeout activities ensuring all cost issues are properly and promptly addressed, As-Builts are completed, O & M Manuals are submitted and all documentation is processed in accordance with Contract Agreements.
