Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is seeking a Maintenance Field Work Supervisor (FWS). The FWS will have responsibilities for all maintenance activities in support of Tank Farm and ETF Maintenance. Primary duties will be mechanical, but the versatility to do instrument and electrical is a bonus. This position will assist the Maintenance Manager with general supervision and coordination of the craft support.

- Develop effective working relationships with bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit personnel, demonstrating mutual respect and cooperation.
- Follow through with commitments.
- Plan/execute multiple, complex field activities with a demonstrated record of successful schedule execution.
- Ensure work packages are technically correct and capable of being performed safely and efficiently
- Resolve work and safety issues to permit safe and efficient performance of work in the field.
- Review and approve maintenance technical procedures (preventive maintenance); conduct field validation of technical procedures.
- Provide status and communicate work scope at Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week meetings. Resolve resource and schedule issues.
- Provide effective progressive performance management of employee issues; respond to employee issues and concerns and resolve, to the extent practicable, bargaining unit grievance issues.
- Provides input to engineering and other organizations for improvement initiatives relating to west area facilities and maintenance
- Performs Problem Evaluation Request (PER) resolution
- Provides expertise on all mechanical/electrical/instrumentation issues and evaluations
Please Note: This position is being advertised under the current Tank Operations Contractor, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS). However, now that transition activities have begun a candidate selected for employment may be hired under the incoming contractor, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) contract. Further details will be provided during the hiring process.
Required Qualifications
Grade 18:
- BA/BS degree in construction management, business management or a related discipline with 8 years' experience or the equivalent combination education and directly related experience.
Grade 19:
- BA/BS degree in construction management, business management or a related discipline with 9 years' experience, to include a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 20:
- BA/BS degree in construction management, business management or a related discipline. A minimum of 10 years' experience, to include a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Note the essential duties for these grade levels are similar to that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility and size of department managed may be larger and the expected level of performance is increased.
Desired Qualifications
- Primary duties will be mechanical but the versatility to do instrument and electrical is a bonus.
- Technical or Engineering degree preferred.
- EL01 certification preferred.
- Extensive experience of NFPA70E.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $106,663
Hiring Range Maximum: $162,688
