We are seeking an experienced Cannabis Extraction Lab Manager to supervise and manage routine laboratory operations, including physical labor (machinery and equipment) as well as digital work (software and reporting). The Extraction Manager will oversee the performance of laboratory and kitchen technicians, educate and train staff, maintain production documents, and operate compliantly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee staff including scheduling employees, managing process flow, managing attendance, performance management, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of all job functions in the lab.
- Provide training to personnel on proper lab methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Review, track, and trend technical and employee performance.
- Is responsible for the facilities operations, including, processing protocols, strategy, and day-to-day production while supervising a team of laboratory technicians.
- Interview, hire, and train required extraction laboratory personnel in order to keep up with production requirements.
- Use projections to forecast sales and minimum inventory requirements for new retail openings and promotions.
- Coordinates with Cultivation, Processing, and Retail management to ensure output to match customer demand.
- Coordinate routine inventory audits and maintain strict record keeping.
- Consistently achieve quality end products with repeatability.
- Create new and improved product formulations.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental and document control requirements.
- Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”

Qualifications
- 2 years of Laboratory management experience
- 3 years of Cannabis laboratory experience
- Master knowledge of decarboxylation, winterization, and short path distillation/fractional distillation
- Experience with solventless extraction methods
- Expertise in various extraction methods as well as the purification, separation, and isolation of various compounds of cannabis.
- Proven experience developing, documenting, and managing strict SOP’s
- Acute problem-solving skills coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Able to operate analytical instruments and analyze data
- Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge in pharmaceutical formulation and plant genetics.
- Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies
Certificates / Licenses / Registrations / Requirements
- Must be twenty-one (21) years or older.
- Able to pass background check and drug screening.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- No felony drug convictions within the previous ten (10) years.
- Must fully meet the licensing requirements of the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board and be licensed to dispense medical cannabis according to the rules and regulations promulgated by the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board, in accordance to the White Earth Medicinal Cannabis Code.
