The primary responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, supervising, training, and certifying Security Guards at Waabigwan Mashkiki LLC’s organic medical cannabis cultivation facility and dispensary/patient consultation center. The Security Supervisor will perform physical and video security, access control, and critical communications duties to safeguard the staff, patients, assets, and property of the multiple Waabigwan Mashkiki sites. All duties will be performed in accordance with the Waabigwan Mashkiki, LLC regulations, policies, and procedures, including the Standard Operating Procedures promulgated by the White Earth Medicinal Cannabis Control Board. All duties need to be performed in accordance with the Waabigwan Mashkiki, LLC regulations, policies, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing the security plan.
- Assist with hiring, training and certifying Security Guards including determining suitability for Armed Security Guard positions of applicants based on the results of criminal history background investigations, interviewing former employers, coworkers, neighbors and known associates, and other suitability considerations including the mental health of applicants as it relates to the operation and use of high-powered and low-powered weapons and equipment during the performance of job duties.
- Maintaining regulatory compliance with all security measures employed by the company; and all other management and supervisory responsibilities required by the Tribe.
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information and criminal acts.
- Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with plant anddispensary activities.
- Confers with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of plant activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
- Creates schedules and duty assignments for subordinates, ensuring routine patrol and post duties are performed.
- Gathers information on irregularities and completes written reports.
- Grants or denies leave according to schedule.
- Responds to access and emergency alarms ensuring safety of staff, patients, property, and assets.
- Interprets and explains internal security policies and procedures to ensure staff, vendors and patients comply.
- Coordinates, observes, and participates in transfer of product, inventory, and monetary assets to ensure pre-identified procedures are adhered to.
- Ensures that all products, materials, assets, are secured before completing transfers or transports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Effectively communicates and identifies issues or concerns to assist in implementing greater security measures to ensure staff and patient safety and security of property and assets.
- Monitors for and reports any deviations from Standard Operating Procedures, breaches of security, unauthorized access to, tampering, destruction or theft of mothers, clones and all plant materials including waste, to the General/Operations Manager immediately upon suspicion or detection.
- Initiate’s lock-down safety procedures for assigned workspace to ensure staff safety and protection of property and assets.

Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:
· Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Law Enforcement or related field and graduate of an accredited police academy recognized by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (POST) preferred; or
· Two years related experience and/or training; or
· Minimum two years of honorable service as a member of the US Armed Forces; or
· Equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must possess First Aid, CPR and AED Certification
· A minimum of two years security or law enforcement experience
· A minimum of one year experience in training, assessing, and proctoring armed guard certification testing is preferred.
