Position Summary:

The Recovery House Coordinator will provide oversight and guidance at our Women's Recovery Homes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with leadership skills and a passion for helping others. You will work directly with individuals in early recovery, providing structure and support to establish stable long-term recovery from a substance use disorder while being responsible for working with all other staff to ensure appropriate supervision, programming, and recovery support for all locations. 

 

Coordinator must be able to maintain organized records, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and be able to interact appropriately and professionally with residents who are working on their recovery. Candidates must also be able to effectively handle emergency/crisis situations as they arise. The House Coordinator should either have a peer recovery specialist credential or earn one shortly after hire, it is assumed that the person who will fill this role will be in recovery from substance use.

 

This is a Full-Time, non-live in position. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Ensure all recovery homes are appropriately maintained in accordance with MARR Standards and report any issues to Recovery Residence Manager. 
  • Review new applications with residential team as they are received to assess readiness for admission into homes.
  • Maintain records as needed for proper documentation, including GPRA, behavioral contracts, and census. 
  • Collect rent from residents monthly, or more frequently based upon agreement with resident, and complete required paperwork in accordance with WPHW policy.  All rental collections are submitted to Recovery House Manager in the same week collected. 

Peer Support: 

  • Ensure residents have a safe, comfortable home like environment in which to pursue their healing journey while encouraging personal responsibility. 
  • Conduct random UA screenings and document results, including communication with the resident and Recovery Residence Manager.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, while treating all peers with dignity and respect.
  • Coordinate and promote social/cultural/recreational activities that enforce and enhance recovery progress on regular schedule in accordance with grant deliverables.
  • Coordinate peer recovery-based groups within the home on a regular schedule.
  • Assists residents with educational and employment goals through applications, resume drafting, and interview preparations.
  • Coordinate activities that promote healthy lifestyles, self- monitoring, effective management and foster holistic recovery substance abuse prevention, recovery, obesity, and smoking.
  • Ensure that residents complete weekly chores and attend meetings requirements to support their recovery while in the home.
  • Conduct weekly house inspections, to include resident bedrooms and conduct weekly house meetings with all staff and residents.
  • Coordinate individual meetings with residents upon entry and every 90 days following the initial meeting. Linking residents to proper support services upon entry to the home including medical, dental, housing, work, counseling, MAT, legal and any other necessary services.
  • Enforce Recovery Home Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to room inspections, UA screening, fire drills, sign out procedure, request for leave, and house agreements.
  • If applicable, one must maintain recovery to ensure appropriate modelling for those in the recovery home.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Have a high school Diploma, GED, or in process of completing GED
  • Must have 2 or more years of sustained recovery from a substance use disorder
  • Must have Certified Intentional Peer Recovery Specialist designation, or be willing to obtain within 12 months of hire
  • Must have certifications in Basic First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Crisis Intervention and substance testing procedures, or complete training within six months of hire

    Skills and Qualifications Required:

    • Must have minor house maintenance/repair skills
    • Experience working with indigenous populations
    • Basic computer and keyboarding skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)
    • Knowledge of community resources
    • Knowledge of completing grant paperwork
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
    • Must pass all agency criminal and other program required background check
