Position Summary:
The primary objective of this position is to support the Wabanaki Center for Research, Knowledge, and Innovation (CWRKI) by providing managerial and administrative oversight for its operational team. This will be for a broad set of assignments that involve leading a team responsible for grant administration, budgetary needs, information technology, and human resource functions. Key responsibilities include development and management of all CWRKI policies and procedures, HR needs and staff evaluations, coordination of administration tasks, and managing grant lifecycles and reporting. This role will serve as the operational leader within CWRKI and able to provide pre/post and setting up awards for the center. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position and is fully grant-funded.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership and Oversight
- Supervise the operational team and day to day operations within CWRKI.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for CWRKI operations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, grant, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- Supervise research information technology team and ensure progress on data objectives.
Grant and Budget Management
- Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including application, administration, reporting, and closeout.
- Ensure proper budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight for CWRKI initiatives in collaboration with Senior Director.
Human Resources and Staff Development
- Manage HR functions inside CWRKI including staff evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategies for staff retention and professional growth.
- Address personnel matters and ensure a supportive work environment.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare reports on operational status, grant compliance, and budget management.
- Ensure timely submission of grant and financial reports to funding agencies.
- Monitor teams inside CWRKI for compliance of weekly reporting requirements.
Other Duties
- Assist with strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
- Support the success of CWRKI through additional tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, plus three (3) years of relevant leadership experience required; a Master’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience preferred.
- Experience in grant administration, budget management, and policy development.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- High level of proficiency in human resources management.
- Ability to oversee IT and data management functions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
- Willingness to travel; a good driving record and access to reliable transportation are required
