What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Clerk - Part Time position at Wabash General Hospital?
The patient access clerk registers patients to the hospital: inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients. The Patient Access clerk establishes patient accounts, gathers billing information, insurance cards where applicable, and guarantor information. Obtains appropriate signatures on the face sheet and admission papers. Directs patients to the appropriate department for services. Immediately notifies nursing supervisor or emergency room personnel of a potential critical patient. Scans required patient information into the system. Verification Process running real time eligibility for patients' insurance and selecting the correct plan. Showing compassion and courtesy to patients, patients family, and visitors in Wabash General Hospital. Welcoming patients into Wabash General Hospital, showing compassion and the willingness to help all of the patients, visitors, co-workers. Gathering all the necessary demographics to register our patients accurately, scanning photo Id cards, insurance cards. Following a workflow from beginning to end of registration so our patients may have the best experience at WGH. Escort our patients to the department that they will be visiting at WGH on the day of their service. part-time evening hours.
Schedule & Shift: May be any day of the week, evening hours between 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Requirements:
One year of general office experience and/or equivalent education preferred.
