Description
The Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and recruiting qualified candidates for various positions at Wabash General Hospital. This role involves developing both short-term and long-term hiring strategies, managing the onboarding process from offer acceptance through the first day, and ensuring all necessary documentation and resources are in place. Additionally, the specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for students in our work-based learning program, helping to build a strong talent pool for future employment at WGH.
Essential Functions
- Oversee all hiring stages from sourcing to onboarding.
- Coordinate the internal hiring process.
- Create job postings, track progress, and post/update job openings across various systems and job boards.
- Screen resumes and applications based on essential criteria.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews.
- Track key recruiting metrics like time-to-hire and source of hire.
- Process employment forms and ensure compliance with hiring policies.
- Host or participate in job fairs to attract potential candidates.
- Act as a resource for new hires and their directors, addressing questions and ensuring they have the necessary tools for success.
- Regularly assess and recommend program changes to improve retention and engagement.
- Follow up with new employees at 30, 45, and 90-day intervals to evaluate their onboarding experience and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a dedicated point of contact for students in our student program, increasing engagement and retention of local talent.
- Foster relationships with local schools and programs to strengthen student placement opportunities.
- 3 years of experience in human resources or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a business-related field preferred.
- Strong communication, employee relations, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in organization, documentation, and technical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- A team player with a high level of professionalism.
- Must strongly represent company culture and values.
- Demonstrates discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality regarding department/hospital matters.
- Skilled in compiling information from multiple sources.
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak confidently in large group settings.
- Capable of developing and implementing programs with minimal direction.
