Position Summary
The Delivery Driver will drive any of the Wabash Valley fleet of trucks over established routes to deliver store orders and collect donations to return the product to the main plant. The delivery driver will be responsible for completing accurate records confirming amounts delivered and quantities brought back. Occasionally will be requested to do home pickups of donations and write tax receipts for the donations. Will be required to operate a forklift as needed, work on the dock to load and unload the truck, and/or transport stock to and from storage facilities.
Essential Duties include the following.

- Drives trucks on specified routes to deliver orders to area Goodwill retail stores, and to make home pickups.
- Ability to obtain a forklift operator’s license, remain valid and operate as needed
- Writes tax receipts and fills out reports of specific quantities of various items
- Completes inspection of each truck or equipment used – complete form documenting the same
- Listens to and resolves donor complaints – reports to Director of Operations if not resolved
- Assists branch stores
- Completes accurate monthly facility checks; documents issues; submits reports
- Responsible for the safe and proper loading, unloading and securing of freight/containers
- Cleans trucks of debris both in the cab and the truck body
- Performs routine maintenance on truck equipment used.
- Works on the dock to load and unload trucks and move material as needed
- Maintains professional image by the dress code and exhibits excellent hygiene
- Manages difficult or emotional customer/donor situations
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Completes assignments in a safe and efficient manner
- Operates by all FMCSR, DOT, and OSHA safety standards
- Completes incident/accident reports if self or truck helper(s) are injured on the job
- Immediately reports safety concerns and maintenance issues with vehicles and facilities
- Selects proper equipment for safe lifting and moving materials
- Appropriately instructs truck helper(s) on various tasks
- Maintains a valid for hire or CDL license
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Utilizes proper personal protective equipment
- Refrains from using foul language or making derogatory remarks/gestures
- Remains drug-free
- Refrains from creating or contributing to workplace drama
- Arrives to work on time when scheduled, works the entire shift, and maintains excellent attendance
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises one or two employees (truck helper(s) when driving a truck and doing deliveries and pickups. Occasionally supervises more persons when functioning as a team leader on the dock.
Education and or Experience
High school education or greater preferred; Excellent driving record required; Verifiable experience with delivery truck size or larger truck
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
For Hire endorsement on the license (formerly chauffeurs) required; CDL preferred.
