Job Description
Are you a savvy negotiator with a passion for Power Supply? Wabash Valley Power Alliance (WVPA) is seeking a dynamic Manager, Origination to support our members in identifying, negotiating, and executing essential power supply contracts.
In this vital role, you’ll work directly with our members to ensure their ongoing supply needs are met, while playing a key part in fostering economic growth within our service territory. Your expertise will help strengthen partnerships, optimize procurement strategies, and support the long-term sustainability of the community.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support economic development efforts.
- Manage ongoing supply needs for new and existing member needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with market counterparties including IPPs, financial institutions, and power marketers.
- Manage PPA negotiations for long-term capacity and energy transactions.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of financial viability, risk assessment, and regulatory impacts.
- Collaborate with a team to develop both supply and energy services agreements for data center needs.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with consultants, partners, EPCs, Independent System Operators (ISOs), government agencies, and other industry stakeholders.
- Evaluate market conditions, member feedback, and regulatory landscapes to capitalize on new opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Communicate key decision points and present recommendations to executive staff and the Board of Directors.
- Provide input into the business plan and origination strategy.
- Work with regulatory and policy experts to track and incorporate policy efforts.
Qualifications
You have strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within the organization and membership. You love working with people both colleagues and members in a member-focused cooperative environment. You take a constructive approach to understanding the needs of situations and are results-oriented, self-motivated, and have a high level of initiative.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in energy markets, origination, or related field, required
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical and financial evaluation skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree – MBA preferred
- Experience with data center energy needs and supply agreements.
- Familiarity with regulatory and policy environments affecting energy markets.
