The Business Development Specialist acts as a customer liaison, working cross-functionally with internal teams to drive sales, support promotional initiatives, and build long-term business relationships. This role monitors and provides recommendations on best practices, technology, and innovation improvements, supporting both customers and the outside sales team.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound Customer and Sales Representative inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Promote company programs and deliver sales reports and target lists to Sales Representatives.
- Work with sales reps to pursue new business opportunities and upsell products.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Quotations, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.) to align customer needs with company requirements.
- Manage customer orders through the sales lifecycle, including quotes, tracking, delivery, product support, and returns.
- Provide recommendations to leadership on sales policies, procedures, and innovations.
- Analyze data and trends to support territory performance.
- Assist in preparing product layouts, estimates, and proposals.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for lighting products and fans.
- Work with the Territory Sales Manager to review account details and resolve discrepancies.
- Build relationships with decision makers such as distributors, architects, and project managers.
- Maintain and track leads via CRM to maximize sales opportunities.
- Participate in virtual sales presentations and tradeshows.
- 2 years of lighting industry experience, preferably in a remote-sales or call center role.
- Strong knowledge of innovative lighting products and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with sound judgment through completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and commissions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and CRM software; SAP and Zendesk experience a plus.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
