Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Mentor to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring and supporting children in need. This position is 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to youth in various areas of their lives
- Assist in developing and implementing educational and recreational programs
- Work closely with children to address behavioral issues and promote positive social interactions
- Collaborate with social workers and educators to track personalized plans for each child
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of each child regularly
- Mediate conflicts and provide emotional support when needed
Skills:
- Experience working with children in a mentoring or childcare capacity (1 year required)
- Knowledge of child welfare and behavioral health practices
- Strong conflict management skills
- Ability to educate and empower youth through positive reinforcement
- Background in social work, special education, or related field is a plus
