we are looking for you as a(n) Director, Silicones Operations.
The Director Silicones Operations leads the Adrian Site SILICONES Operations including production units HCR, RTV, Polymers and HiBay, engineering, maintenance and utilities, quality control, process chemistry, environment/health/safety and security of the site. The position works to build strong teamwork between Supply Chain, Business Teams, Operations and Support groups (including Logistics, Corporate Engineering and Regional EHS) as well as regionally and globally.
The Director Silicones Operations is responsible for the safe, sound, economical an in-spec manufacturing of WACKER products, of complying to all safety, labor, environmental and other applicable laws and regulations, both external and internal, of leading and guiding team members. The position is responsible to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the site operations and develops and executes a site development plan by improving the production assets.
The position leads and directs continuous improvement efforts to achieve the vision of world class safety and manufacturing performance. Maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas within the Division Silicones, Wacker Chemical Corporation, and Wacker Chemie AG sites.

Essential Functions
- Creating an open safety culture, implementing procedures and processes to ensure safe production. Fulfilling internal and external obligations with respect to compliance with safety and environmental-protection legislation.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators and guide efforts for improvements in manufacturing costs, effectiveness, productivity, and service metrics including quality measures and on-time deliveries.
- Ensure cost efficient production, foster stringent cost control; continuously monitoring workflows to identify areas for potential rationalization; making suggestions for potential process changes.
- Establish and execute site operating plans & budget to meet targets over the planning period. Participate in the planning and specification of priorities for development and production proposals.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, Chemical Engineering Degree or related field
- 15 years of experience in the Chemical Industry
- 10 years of managerial experience
- Thorough understanding of chemical processes
- Ability to lead and motivate employees or teams
- Knowledge of labor law
- Familiarity with business management basics
- Customer service orientation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer knowledge - SAP, MS Office applications
- Minimum travel 10%
