Job Summary:
The primary role of the Senior Systems Engineer is to ensure a stable and reliable systems infrastructure that supports the business goals and objectives. This position is part of a team who manages the design and day-to-day support of IT operations system infrastructure including but not limited to servers (physical/virtual), clients, Active Directory, VOIP, disk management and disaster recovery/backups.
This position collaborates across the enterprise on a global and local level, working closely with functional Key users, technical resources, and the global infrastructure team to implement successful business solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Functions:
- Performs assigned day-to-day system maintenance and user support tasks.
- Responds and provides support for day to day helpdesk incidents.
- Maintains assigned systems, prioritizes tasks and defines tasks for this position and others.
- Diagnoses, resolves and communicates advanced server and client problems.
- Assists in defining and executing ongoing administration and health maintenance plans, procedures and operations.
- Designs, installs, configures, administers, tunes, troubleshoots, stabilizes and optimizes servers and related components in or to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported.
- Designs systems for a remote site.
- Provides advance level support for current call center system and collaborative infrastructure systems.
System Design & Solution Development:
- Develops detailed process flows, documentation and procedures by collaborating with IT operations & other department’s personnel.
- Cost effectively develops and implements a comprehensive system designs that meets business requirements by utilizing technology in the most simplistic method possible.
Project Management:
- Teamwork and collaboration expertise with significant experience in taking a leadership role in teams and project activities; demonstrates coordination and team leadership skills; manages cross-functional project teams.
- Supports the deployment of production systems and provides post-production support.
- Develops and communicates project plans including accurate time, cost estimates, risk analysis, and production support activities; informs team members and stakeholders of project or development status.
- Plans and coordinates system upgrade activities.
- Manages cross-functional project teams.
- Identifies significant process improvement opportunities and may lead implementation.
System Design & Architecture:
- Develops detailed process flows, documentation and procedures by collaborating with IT operations & other department’s personnel.
- Cost effectively develops and implements a comprehensive system designs that meets business requirements by utilizing technology in the most simplistic method possible.
Safety:
- Performs all job functions in a safe manner and maintains safety awareness.
Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and/or conditions to manager.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or work equivalent experience is required.
- Relevant technical certifications, such as Microsoft MCSE Certification, is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience IT systems administration required.
- Proven experience with SAP/Sinch Call Center technology is preferred.
- Proven working knowledge of the following is required: Windows Server Platform, Microsoft Hyper-V, Collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, Microsoft 365), Veeam Backup solutions and Active Directory management.
- Working knowledge in the following is preferred: Microsoft SCCM/SCSM, Industry Backup practices, disk management methodology/best practices, networking, and client management. High degree of emotional intelligence competencies.
- Project coordination and change management experience required.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication, presentation, listening, negotiation, problem-solving, decision making, and assertiveness skills; attention to detail and ability to build collaboration across the enterprise.
- Passport required, must be able to travel globally (approximately 10%).
