As a Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Production Manager with daily hands-on tasks, overseeing our day-to-day operations. Scope:

As a Team Leader, you will thrive in an environment with limited supervision, where each day brings new and exciting challenges. You will engage with a diverse array of personalities and navigate various guidelines associated with manufacturing processes. Your role will be pivotal in creating and refining processes that may be lacking, while also assisting with testing, adjustments, and repairs. Beyond these responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall operations of our business, ensuring that we maintain a safe and immaculate work environment that adheres to both manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards. In this dynamic position, you will prepare and complete essential documentation in a timely manner. Embracing the multifaceted nature of this role, you will leverage your advanced computer skills, including expertise in Excel spreadsheets and the entire Microsoft Office Suite, to enhance productivity and collaboration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop a strategy that the team members can use to better reach a project’s goal while maintaining the highest level of quality and integrity.
  • Assign tasks to team members. Reassigns work as necessary throughout the day.
  • Determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep the project on track and schedule.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members from top leadership.
  • Gemba,
  • Motivational, encouraging, finds ways to help improve performance and helps the team stay on task.
  • Manage the flow of day-to-day operations.
  • Solving the day-to-day problems to keep the team working.
  • Being humble, resolving conflict, strong work ethic – walk the talk.
  • Clear daily objectives
  • Capable of making sound technical decisions as a technician and/or when functioning as Production Inspector. Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and function test referencing manufacturer's technical documents across a variety of airframe, engine, and component systems.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of the company's Work Order system by completing accurate and timely listing of discrepancies and completing accurate corrective action statements including completion of Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements (ref. FAR §91.417).
  • Willingly and effectively share knowledge and learned trusted techniques with lesser experienced technicians through the OJT program to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support the department goals.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe and powerplant components and systems.

  • Perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

As a manager/supervisory, the primary responsibility will be to oversee the workflow at our facility within your department. The role is a complex one. This will not only be someone who supervises the work of others. A supervisor is also responsible for coaching, developing, resolving issues, and serving as a link between team members and upper Leadership. This position will be responsible, accountable for the work of their team members and properly training those team members to the standards set forth.

  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to the team through daily and weekly Gemba’s
  • Develop a strategy that the team members can use to better reach project goals.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks. Assign and reassign work as necessary throughout the day.
  • Motivate, encourage and find ways to help improve performance and help the team stay on task.
  • Monitor team member productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Receive complaints and resolve problems
  • Maintain accurate and timely timecards
  • Pass on information from upper Leadership to employees and vice versa
  • Prepare and submit performance reports
  • Decide on and influence reward and promotion based on performance
  • Interview, hire, and train new employees within the department
  • Work as a key member of the Leadership team.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 Successful Supervisory Experience Required or Equivalent

Specialized Training:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Works at a PC for hours at a time
  • Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.
  • Ability to sit or stand for entire shift.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
  • Ability to lift, frequently, at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.

The environment characteristic for this position is an office setting as well as warehouse environment. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business and warehouse environment.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, and ERP software.

WACO Aircraft is the world's only manufacturer of 1930's era biplanes. Our planes are carefully and skillfully built by hand. Our Centennial business does everything from restoring vintage aircraft to providing new avionics and engines to current aircraft. The Quality Manager is accountable for implementing, maintaining, training, and improving the Quality Management Systems (QMS) of WACO Aircraft Corporation and Centennial Aircraft Services. The Quality Manager will coordinate with other managers on company policies, practices, standards, processes, and implementation. They will also ensure that all employees follow the company guidelines in their various roles. This role requires the quality manager to be onsite a minimum of four days a week to have exposure, awareness, and knowledge of the processes that take place in the company daily operationally.

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
