Position Summary

As an Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for the preparation, painting, and finishing of aircraft surfaces to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Your work will contribute to the overall appearance and protection of aircraft, ensuring they maintain their structural integrity while meeting regulatory requirements.
What you will do
Surface Preparation
- Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers as necessary.
- Inspect surfaces for corrosion, dents, or imperfections, and make necessary repairs or corrections.
Paint Application
- Apply aircraft paint and protective coatings using spray guns, brushes, or other appropriate equipment.
- Ensure the even and consistent application of paint to achieve desired color and finish.
- Follow prescribed painting processes and procedures to meet industry standards.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect painted surfaces to ensure they meet quality and aesthetic standards.
- Identify and address paint defects, such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage.
- Verify color matching and adherence to aircraft specifications.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with aviation regulations.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including paint and solvents.
Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain and clean painting equipment, including spray guns and booths.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs for timely repair.
Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of paint and coating applications, including type, quantity, and processes used.
- Complete all required documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or as necessary to meet the organization's needs.
What we are looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in aircraft painting is preferred.
- Previous experience as an aircraft painter or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.
- Familiarity with aviation regulations and safety practices related to painting operations.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
