PRIMARY DUTIES
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer and Cogito Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of data analytics within the Epic environment.

Ensure clinical data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements based on a deep understanding of the Epic data lifecycle (end-user data entry workflows, ETL processes, database schema design).

Collaborate with Epic Technical Support staff to maintain and update metrics for clinical data registries and Uniform Data System reporting.

Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to perform data needs assessments and translate them into technical solutions.

Contribute to the organizational data strategy in support of clinical and operational decision-making, regulatory reporting requirements, value-based care initiatives, and quality improvement.

Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Epic Cogito, Slicer-Dicer, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or similar.

Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform clinical and operational decision-making.

Support Data Literacy and Use of Self-Service Reporting Tools

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in healthcare analytics, data security, and business intelligence.

Supervise Epic Cogito Administrator/SQL DBA and other Business Intelligence Developers.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business information systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in business intelligence development, preferably in a healthcare setting

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL
-
Experience with Epic Ambulatory EHR and Epic Cogito Tools (Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer-Dicer, Reporting Workbench) strongly preferred

Familiarity with data sharing and transformation techniques like secure file transfer protocol, data mapping, and standardized vocabularies used in healthcare settings

Familiarity with healthcare clinical quality and access metrics, reporting methodology, and information privacy regulations

Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView
